Who We Are

We are a part of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by Jesus Christ. The word “Anglican” simply means “English” and refers to the fact that we are the Church of the English-speaking people, the Church as it was originally found in England.

Our faith is the historic Catholic faith with Apostolic Order and Evangelical truth as presented in the 1928 Book of Common Prayer. This book is the cornerstone document for our Church. Our worship is a highly developed liturgical form known around the world for its great beauty.

Our faith is based on the Bible as interpreted by the Ecumenical Councils of the undivided Church. It is in no way modified to conform to modern secular trends and thinking.

Our parish is a member of the Anglican Church in America, which is a part of the worldwide Traditional Anglican Communion. The TAC has member churches in the USA, Canada, Australia, India, Ireland, Central and South American, South Africa, Japan, and the Torres Straights.

St. Thomas of Canterbury parish is a part of the Diocese of the Missouri Valley within the ACA. Bishop Louis W. Falk is our bishop ordinary who has led the Diocese for many years.
