FROM THE DIRECTOR
As I sat down to write this column there were so many items that I wanted to cover, but I realized there wasn't enough space in the entire newsletter, let alone this article, to address them all. I will try to limit my comments covering just two thoughts.
I have been deeply moved by the great generosity shown to the International Anglican Fellowship. In total I believe this has been a record year of funds being donated, and I know it has been a record year for distributions. Elsewhere in this newsletter is a breakdown of income and expenses, including the distribution of funds that you have contributed. In addition to those funds that ran through the IAF accounts, an additional $18,900 was sent directly to the Churches in need. Because of the currency exchange and heavy bank charges, it was more expedient to send these gifts directly to the recipients.
All of you who generously contributed to the IAF truly had a great impact on the people in the TAC Churches around the world. You have demonstrated once again that Christian charity is alive and flourishing in the Traditional Anglican Communion.
The work is not done - it has only begun. This Newsletter will reach you during the Lenten Season. What better time to examine your giving to those fighting to maintain the Faith against great odds? After Lent last year, I received several gifts that were fairly substantial with a note from the Rector advising that this donation was from the children of his parish who had made the offering as their Lenten sacrifice. What a wonderful way to teach stewardship and charity. May I suggest that perhaps all of us should imitate this example?
To each of you, Richie and I thank you and pray that God may bless you in the days ahead.
